Eric Mueller is a Senior Manager on the GOAT.tax product team, where he translates the needs of taxpayers and CPA partners into detailed product requirements. He works closely with users, tax professionals, and engineering to define, specify, and validate new functionality, with an emphasis on expanding state credit coverage and strengthening state-level calculation support. Eric brings six years of R&D tax credit experience with clients ranging from small and mid-sized businesses to enterprise-scale filers. Prior to moving into product, he specialized in standardizing and streamlining R&D tax credit preparation and delivery, developing repeatable processes that improved turnaround time, consistency, and documentation quality. Eric is passionate about bringing the perspective of a hands-on preparer into product decisions, so the software reflects how R&D credits are actually prepared, reviewed, and defended. He graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a BA in Business Economics and a minor in German.
